Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical/Surgical Telemetry Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced telemetry environment, working collaboratively with a diverse clinical team.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide patient-centered care on a 38-bed medical/surgical telemetry unit.
- Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 6:1, with a night stretch ratio of 7:1.
- Perform peripheral IV starts, dressing changes, and other standard medical-surgical skills.
- Utilize advanced medical equipment, including Baxter IV pumps, wound vacs, SCDs, and prima-fits.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Assist in mentoring and supporting junior staff and colleagues.
Qualifications: - Required: Medical/surgical nursing experience with telemetry knowledge.
- Preferred: Experience as a charge nurse.
- Must possess BLS certification.
Ideal Candidate Profile: - Team player with a positive attitude.
- Willingness to help others without being asked.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Information: - Dress Code: Navy scrubs or all white attire, with navy or white undershirts if needed.
- Commitment to floating to other medical-surgical units as required.
Scheduling: - Expected to work every other weekend or a total of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule.
