Do you have a passion for bridging communication gaps and creating equal learning opportunities for all students? Were seeking a skilled and certified Sign Language Interpreter to provide virtual interpreting services to K12 students across Georgia. In this fully remote role, youll use your expertise to ensure Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students have full access to their educationright from the comfort of your home. Youll collaborate closely with teachers, families, and school teams, using a secure teletherapy platform to foster meaningful connections and enhance classroom engagement.
Deliver clear, accurate, and culturally appropriate interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language (ASL) during virtual classes, meetings, and school events.
Adjust interpreting techniques to best support students individual needs, age, and educational environments.
Facilitate effective communication among students, educators, parents, and school staff in both academic and extracurricular settings.
Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold the highest professional standards in every interaction.
Work alongside teachers and IEP teams to ensure interpreting services align with each students goals and accommodations.
Participate in virtual IEP meetings, providing valuable input to enhance student accessibility and success.
Associates or Bachelors degree in Interpretation or a related field (preferred).
Hold a valid state or national certification (e.g., EIPA score of 3.5+ or RID certification).
Current Georgia licensure or eligibility to obtain appropriate state credentials.
Preferred: 12 years of experience providing interpreting services in school settings.
Proficiency in ASL with familiarity in educational language and classroom settings.
Tech-savvy, with the ability to navigate video conferencing platforms and digital tools.
Highly organized, dependable, and able to work independently in a remote environment.
Reliable, high-speed internet connection.
Desktop or laptop computer (tablets and Chromebooks are not supported).
Ability to complete a quick tech screening to ensure platform compatibility.
