Who You are:

A highly motivated individual with previous experience batching, dispatching, delivering concrete and supervising individuals. Someone who is able to clearly convey information and ideas to team members and customers, as well as maintain a professional demeanor while addressing challenges and resolving issues.

• Familiarity with the local area, contractors, customers, and concrete construction practices.
• Competent in using Windows-based applications and possessing average keyboarding skills.

What you will be doing:

• Customer Relations
  1. Fully understand and follow the company's philosophy as it pertains to customers
  2. Follow up on customer complaints and concerns
  3. When directed, make customer site visit, collect payments or any other customer related items
  4. Discretion, as position requires the handling of confidential information
• Plant Operation

1. Batch and load at the appropriate time to arrive on the jobsite as scheduled
2. Accuracy and attention to detail is a must
3. Complete all paperwork in its entirety and forward as applicable
4. Plant specific operations list is attached
5. Operate loader to ensure bins are full

• Personnel Relations
  1. Ensure that all employees are following company’s policies and procedures
  2. Foster a team building environment
  3. Ensure that CMV operators are completing Driver Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports (accurate, complete and timely)
  4. Ensure that equipment operators are performing Daily Pre-shift Inspections
  5. Ensure that driver logs, fuel usage reporting and mileage logs are complete and accurate

Additional Responsibilities:

• Oversee or complete all maintenance needed for the safe and efficient operation of the assigned plant including Plant/Yard inspections and maintenance (as per the Plant Maintenance Schedule)
• Oversees all general housekeeping of the plant, yard, and shop in accordance with the Safety Manual Policy
• Ensure that maintenance is being performed and recorded on all company vehicles at assigned plant
• Ensure that company vehicles are clean inside and outside
• Ensure that assigned plant is in compliance with OSHA regulations (perform internal safety audit weekly)
• Ensure that assigned plant is in compliance with EPA regulations
• Daily and monthly SPCC plan inspections
• Perform safety huddles with staff weekly or more frequently if necessary
• Ensure that all employees are using all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are working safely
• Accident investigation and reports as necessary (vehicle and employee injury) notify supervisor and Safety Director immediately
• Washout areas must be inspected and maintained to prevent any discharges (or potential discharges) of processed water
• Work with all personnel on proper washdown procedure at the jobsite, to avoid any potential discharges of processed water
• Ensure that the maximum amount of returned concrete is recycled into blocks instead of waste
• Green-star plant managers must comply with the EMS and the Green-star plan for your location
• Maintain inventory to meet production demands and customer needs
• Timely and accurate month end inventory reports and other month end paperwork as assigned

EDUCATION: High School Education or Equivalent

Requirements:

• A valid CDL Class B Driver's License and driving record within the tolerable insurability limits (Carroll Concrete Company's discretion) is preferable
• Must be able to lift/maneuver a minimum of 50 pounds as required throughout the workday
• Must be able to maneuver in and out of truck safely to operate as needed
• Ability to inspect all areas on mixers and plant
• Ability to climb ladder to check inventories and or to perform plant maintenance
• Perform multiple tasks under stressful situations over long periods of time while maintaining proper composure
• Must be able to work long and flexible hours as necessary
• CDL holders must pass DOT (Department of Transportation) physical as well as federally mandated alcohol and drug testing requirements
